History

The business started in 2011 under the name BetInAction Software (BIA), a small development firm that built and sold first-generation sportsbook software along with early white-label, trading and support capability. In 2014 it was rebranded Altenar, when Dinos Stranomitis, Stanislav Silin and Valeri Sandler brought the business together under a single brand and changed the commercial model from software-only licensing to a fully managed sportsbook service; the company reports it had 16 clients at that point.

Altenar entered its first regulated market, Colombia, in 2016 (40 employees, 21 clients), launched a second-generation platform in 2020 (230 employees, 52 clients), and reports passing 800 employees by 2024 while working across more than 50 regulated markets. Ownership has not changed hands: the company remains privately held by its founders, with Stanislav Silin as CEO, Dinos Stranomitis as COO and Valeri Sandler as chairman. There is no parent company, no stock listing and no publicly reported acquisition of or by Altenar.
