History
Red Desert Games was set up in Australia as an independent slot studio by Edgar Pau, its co-founder and head of studio, who spent 14 years at Aristocrat as a game designer and studio manager, and David Lewis, co-founder and creative director, who started at IGT and was a founding member of Next Generation Gaming. Its developer team lead, Adrian Gray, previously worked at VGW and Next Generation Gaming. The team says its experience also spans Bally, Konami and Virtual Gaming Worlds.
In October 2022 IGT announced a three-year partnership under which Red Desert Games develops slots for IGT in Australasia, alongside IGT's own Asia-Pacific studios; titles such as Cash Ching, Eternal Riches, Fortune Koi and Gold of the Gods are shown on the site under the IGT name. In February 2025 the studio joined Light & Wonder's Spark studio partner program, with its games distributed exclusively to Light & Wonder's operator network in Canada and the USA and elsewhere through the Infinity aggregation platform.
