History
Pragmatic Play launched in 2015. Trade press and data providers consistently describe it as a rebrand of Topgame Technology, a slot supplier whose games circulated on Curacao-licensed and US-facing casinos in the early 2010s. The company has never acknowledged that lineage on its own materials, so it should be recorded as reported rather than confirmed. A separate and frequently repeated claim linking its ownership to bet365 is unsupported by any evidence found.
It added a live casino vertical from 2018-2019 and bingo in 2019, moving from a slots-only studio to a multi-vertical supplier. In June 2026 it confirmed it was closing its sportsbook, virtual sports and bingo lines to concentrate on slots, live casino, crash and RNG games. Its corporate structure is layered: the Gibraltar chain runs Veridian (Gibraltar) Limited into Tamaris (Gibraltar) Limited into the Pragmatic Play group, and the Maltese B2B licence that was published under Pragmatic Play Ltd now appears under Arrise Solutions (Malta) Limited. Ultimate beneficial ownership is not disclosed at any level and should be treated as genuinely opaque.
Notable
- Headquartered in Gibraltar, not Malta as commonly listed; its Maltese licence is now held by Arrise Solutions (Malta) Limited.
- The trading brand and the licence-holding operating entity are now different companies: ARRISE states it uses the Pragmatic Play trademarks under licence.
- Confirmed in June 2026 that it is closing its sportsbook, virtual sports and bingo verticals to focus on slots, live casino, crash and RNG.
- Runs Drops & Wins, a recurring cross-operator prize-drop promotion built into its slot and live catalogue.
- The Topgame Technology origin is widely reported but never acknowledged by the company; a frequently repeated bet365 ownership link is unsupported by any evidence.
Notable work
- Gates of Olympus
- Sweet Bonanza
- The Dog House
- Big Bass Bonanza
- Wolf Gold
- Sugar Rush
How well established
The Gibraltar corporate chain, the licence numbers and the June 2026 closure of three verticals are documented. The Topgame Technology lineage is reported consistently by trade press and data providers but has never been acknowledged by the company; a frequently repeated bet365 ownership link is unsupported by any evidence found; and ultimate beneficial ownership is not disclosed at any level of the structure.
