History

Leap Gaming built its business on realistic 3D virtual sports. In a March 2020 interview on its site, CEO Yariv Lissauer said the company had been founded five years earlier with the aim of blurring the line between virtual and live sport. Its news archive, which starts in 2016, records partnerships with Vermantia, Greentube and GVC, the release of the virtual football game All-Out Football in 2018, and on-demand and in-play formats for virtual sports. In June 2018 IMG ARENA formed a strategic partnership with Leap that included an equity stake, and in 2020 Leap announced officially licensed virtual games with the ATP Tour (together with IMG ARENA) and with NASCAR.

The news archive records slot launches from late 2019, among them Hercules, Secrets of the Nile and Vampire Kiss, and the catalogue later added crash and table games. The Malta Gaming Authority granted Leap a game supply licence on 30 July 2020; ISO 27001 certification followed in November 2021 and a UK Gambling Commission content supply licence in May 2022, when the company said it also held licences in Sweden, the Netherlands, Romania, South Africa and Greece. IMG ARENA completed its acquisition of Leap in April 2023. The company lists offices in Birkirkara, Malta, and London.

How well established

The legal entity, company number, registered address, MGA licence number, licensing milestones and the IMG ARENA acquisition are documented on the official site. The founding year is given only indirectly (a 2020 interview says the company was founded five years earlier), and the site's news stops in January 2024.
