History
Kootac opened its first office in Malta in 2013 and received a Curacao licence in 2014, the year it launched Playeurolotto, a multi-currency, multi-language secondary lottery platform backed by insurance. A UK licence followed in 2016 and in 2017 it launched Gigalotto, a white-label messenger lottery platform. Offices opened in Slovakia (2018), the UK (2019) and the UAE (2020), and the company says its team also works from Austria. Its site, last updated in 2024, names Dr Annamaria Remes, a mathematician, as CEO since 2018.
In November 2020 Kootac powered the launch of Mahzooz, which it describes as the UAE's first nationally recognised numbers draw offered under a permit from the Department of Economic Development. It added an agent management system for single and super agents in 2022. Its platform covers player management, payments, draw scheduling, resulting and reporting across web, mobile, agents, kiosks and self-service terminals, and can be hosted by Kootac or by the operator.
