History

HungryBear was set up by the senior managers and technical architects behind CORE Gaming, which was acquired by Sky Betting & Gaming in 2016. The company says that team moved casino game development from Flash to HTML5 from 2011 onward, converting and rebuilding major slots for large content suppliers. After the sale its founders spent two years under non-compete covenants in UK and European jurisdictions, which ended in June 2020, after which HungryBear opened for business.

It then secured a contract with the British Columbia Lottery Corporation, under which it produces content for the PlayNow platform, and it is licensed by British Columbia's GPEB. Hungry Bear Gaming Limited also holds a UK Gambling Commission remote gambling software licence (account 59191). It offers ground-up game design, maths, server and client development, integration and QA, and its catalogue mixes slots such as King Kerching and Moosey Money with blackjack and roulette variants and SlotMasters, which it bills as the first multiplayer slot.
