Games Lab is a Sydney game studio, incorporated in 2008 as part of the Blue Wombat group, that designs custom real-money slot suites for land-based gaming machines, online and mobile clients. History
Games Lab says it was incorporated in 2008 as part of the Blue Wombat group, founded in 2002, and that its team has been building casino games since then. The Sydney studio, made up of mathematicians, game designers, artists, animators, sound designers and QA staff, works mainly to order: it designs slot suites from scratch, including concepts and mathematics, for online casino companies and Australian and overseas land-based poker machine manufacturers, and states it has produced more than 300 unique real-money slot titles for key clients since 2003.
It moved into social gaming with Slots Central, launched on Facebook in January 2013 with more than 24 slots and Android and iOS versions later that year; a later social release, The Gambling Bug, was offered through Spin Games. It has also published casual apps such as Penny Parlor, Bomba and Toot Toot ABC, the game Final War: 5 Dragons in 2015 and a Final War tactical card game for tabletop players in 2016. The 2008 incorporation, the Blue Wombat group link, the Sydney studio and the product history are documented on the official site; it dates the Slots Central launch to January 2013 on the social casino page but to 2012 on the company profile. The site has not been updated since about 2016, gives no licences and does not name its slot clients, so current activity is uncertain.
