History
The business began as Global Cash Access, a casino cash-access and payments provider, which acquired the slot manufacturer Multimedia Games in 2014 and renamed itself Everi in 2015 — combining a games division with a fintech division. It expanded further in bingo and payments through Video King and Venuetize.
In February 2024 IGT agreed to merge its Global Gaming and PlayDigital businesses with Everi; Apollo Global Management's USD 6.3bn all-cash structure was announced in July 2024, with Everi shareholders receiving USD 14.25 per share. Everi stockholders approved in November 2024, Nevada regulators in June 2025, and the transaction completed in July 2025. Everi therefore no longer exists as an independent listed supplier, though its name persists on selected product lines within the combined IGT. Its fintech arm is why the combined company is organised as Gaming, Digital and FinTech units.
Notable
- Formed from Global Cash Access, a payments business, which bought slot maker Multimedia Games in 2014 and renamed to Everi in 2015.
- Its casino fintech division, not its slot content, is what made it strategically attractive in the Apollo transaction.
- Did not acquire iSoftBet — that was IGT, in 2022. The two businesses only met when Apollo combined them in July 2025.
- Ceased to be an independent listed company in July 2025.
