History

DWG was founded in 2005 by CEO Troy Zurawski, who had worked for Las Vegas slot manufacturers and comes from three generations of casino professionals. He set it up as an independent third-party studio that develops all games and technology in-house. The company says it has produced more than 800 games, from stepper and video slots for land-based casinos in the UK and US, including Panda Queen, Wonders of Africa and Komodo Dragon, to more than 17 social casino apps such as Diamond Sky Casino and Spin Vegas Slots.

Its later expansion was into real-money online gaming in the UK and US, where it says its content has gone live at more than 30 operators in five markets, with endorsements on the site from Caesars Entertainment and BetMGM. Its proprietary LuckyTap mechanic replaces reels with branded, IP-driven formats such as Pop-A-Shot and Gretzky Goal, and the company says suppliers including Playtech license the mechanic to build their own LuckyTap titles. It names Scottsdale, Arizona, as its headquarters, and supplies online games through Design Works Gaming (UK) Limited, registered in England and Wales, and Design Works Studios, LLC; after New Jersey, its Michigan, Pennsylvania and Connecticut licences were announced between October 2021 and January 2022.
