History

CEGO was founded in Denmark in 2000 to make casual online entertainment and games. When Denmark opened its regulated online gambling market in 2012, it launched Spilnu.dk under a Danish Gambling Authority licence on the first day of the new regime, with every game built in-house. Danske Spil acquired the company in 2014 and ran it as a subsidiary, and the in-house game studio was formalised as Magnet Gaming in 2017. In 2019 CEGO was reacquired from Danske Spil with backing from VIA Equity, which funded expansion into the UK.

Happytiger.co.uk opened under a UK Gambling Commission licence in 2021 on the same platform, followed by Spinking.co.uk in 2025 and by Spinking.dk and Luxcasino.co.uk in 2026, giving the company five brands in two regulated markets. CEGO describes itself as vertically integrated: game mathematics, the game studio, the player platform, compliance and marketing are built in-house rather than bought from an RGS or platform vendor. In 2026 its site said it had more than 140 staff at its Aalborg headquarters and more than 200 original games.
