History
Blueprint Gaming traces to 2001 in the East Midlands, initially supplying the UK amusement and betting-shop machine market; its current UK entity, company number 06225948, was incorporated in 2007 as Blueprint Entertainment UK Ltd. The Gauselmann Group — now Merkur Group — took a stake in 2008 and acquired the business outright in 2012, giving the German group a British development base and a route into UK online. Companies House records list Gauselmann family members among its persons with significant control.
Blueprint built its online catalogue around branded entertainment IP — film and television licences including The Goonies, Ted, Rick and Morty and Beavis and Butt-Head — and around Megaways adaptations licensed from Big Time Gaming. It also converts Merkur land-based titles for the UK and German online markets and continues to supply physical machines. Its UK-facing distribution is far heavier than its presence on Eastern European or crypto-facing operators.
Notable
- Gauselmann — now Merkur Group — took a stake in 2008 and acquired Blueprint outright in 2012; it trades under an independent British brand and was not renamed when the parent became Merkur Group in 2024.
- Licenses film and television IP for slots, unusual among European studios.
- One of the largest licensees of Big Time Gaming's Megaways mechanic.
- Runs the Jackpot King progressive network, which links around forty of its games.
- Its parent states it distributes content across more than 100,000 gaming machines in the UK, Germany and Italy, so it is an omnichannel supplier rather than an online-only studio.
Notable work
- Fishin' Frenzy
- The Goonies
- Eye of Horus
- Ted
- Buffalo Rising Megaways
How well established
The UK company number, the Gauselmann shareholding recorded at Companies House and the licence set are documented; the 2001 origin in the East Midlands is reported rather than taken from the register.
