History

Black Cat Games Limited was incorporated in England in October 2023 and, after about 18 months of planning, research and demo building, announced itself as a live studio in December 2024. Its founders came from a decade of building web games, and the studio describes its strengths as graphics, animation, sound design and production. In February 2025 it joined Million Games' Million Stars programme, which supplies a remote game server and distribution, with an option for the studio to buy its own instance of that RGS later; in April 2025 it joined Yggdrasil's YGG Masters programme, which publishes its games through Yggdrasil's GATI tools and operator network. Its first title was Captain's Curse.

The company applied to the UK Gambling Commission in June 2025 and was granted a remote gambling software licence in September 2025. Its second game, Island Ices, went into wide release in January 2026 with operators including bet365 and Entain; Druid's Drop followed with a two-week bet365 exclusive from April 2026, and Lucky Lizard Oasis launched in July 2026. The studio also reports work with US social-casino platforms Pulsz and Crown Coins, and has announced Dragonrise, its fifth title, for release through Yggdrasil on 19 November 2026.
