History
Backseat Gaming was founded in 2023 by a team that describes itself as players first, with a focus on simple, fast-loading, mobile-optimised slots and a release cadence of one new game a week. Most of its titles offer four RTP settings, from 96.01 down to 90.01 percent, and high or very high volatility; Rocket Reckon, for example, offers a 10,000x maximum win. The studio says its games are available in 36 languages and 178 currencies, and offers exclusive or pre-release content to key partners.
On 9 September 2026 it announced that it had launched as a fully independent studio running entirely on a proprietary RGS developed in-house over two years, and noted a recent integration with the aggregator Hub88. The announcement names Espen Oeye as co-founder and chief executive. It then announced that from 1 October 2026 every Clutch Gaming title, including Viking Raid Bonanza and Duel of Wizards, would move into the Backseat Gaming catalogue, consolidating both under one brand. Its website terms are governed by the laws of Cyprus.
