History
Ash Gaming's undated About page says the company began in 2002 by delivering custom projects for customers in the early online gaming market and grew into a multi-language portfolio of games for operators, bookmakers and platform providers. The same page describes a team of more than 30 people based in Southwark, London, a Gambling Software Licence from the UK Gambling Commission and an Investors in People award. Playtech's 2011 results statement gives the founding year as 2000 instead.
Playtech acquired 100% of Ash Gaming Limited on 15 December 2011 for a total cash consideration of GBP 23.0 million, including up to GBP 7.5 million deferred. Playtech described Ash as a major developer for its GTS open-platform licensees with one of the highest game penetrations in the UK market, and planned to distribute its content in Playtech's casino product, as poker and bingo side games, on the Videobet land-based platform and on mobile and social channels. As of 2026 the ashgaming.com domain hosts general gambling articles and states that Ash Gaming slot machines can now be found under Playtech.
Notable
- Acquired by Playtech on 15 December 2011 for GBP 23.0 million in cash, including up to GBP 7.5 million deferred.
- Was a major game developer for licensees of Playtech's GTS open platform before the acquisition.
- The company's About page and Playtech's results statement give different founding years, 2002 and 2000.
How well established
The London base, UKGC software licence and 2002 start are stated on the About page; the 2011 acquisition terms come from Playtech's investor-relations results statement. The founding year conflicts between the two sources, and the site names no game titles.
