History

The company traces its lineage to Universal Lease Company, established in Japan in 1969, and to Universal Distributing of Nevada (UDN), set up in 1983 and licensed in Nevada in 1984 as a gaming-machine manufacturer, distributor and slot route operator. UDN became Aruze Gaming America in 2005, with subsidiaries in Australia and Africa; it opened a manufacturing plant in Manila in 2009, incorporated Aruze Gaming Macau in 2011 and launched its first social game with Zynga in 2016.

In 2023 Empire Technological Group, trading as Play Synergy, which had received Nevada manufacturer and distributor licences that August, acquired the electronic gaming machines, online assets and overseas operations of Aruze Gaming America and renamed itself Aruze Gaming Global. In February 2024 AG2 announced approvals from 14 tribal gaming authorities and licences in Louisiana, South Dakota, West Virginia and Wisconsin. Its press releases name Frank Feng as president and owner and describe game development by the Rainbow Gaming studio and Empire Shared Services Philippines under chief innovation officer Masumi Fujisawa. The range covers MUSO and CUBE-X cabinets, video and mechanical stepper slots, electronic table games and online social games.

How well established

The corporate timeline, the 2023 acquisition, the Las Vegas address, the product range and the licences announced in 2023 and 2024 are documented on the official site. The official site does not give licence numbers or a founding year for the present company; a note on its August 2023 Play Synergy release says all 'ETG assets' have been taken over by Interblock Gaming, without a date or explanation.
