Apparat Gaming says it has been developing slots since 2020. It was founded by a team of eight with a combined 75 years in German land-based and online gambling, including co-founders and directors Thomas Wendt, who co-founded and later sold a game studio and held senior posts in the German gambling industry, and Alina Dandörfer. By mid-2022 it reported a team of 15, more than 11 games in development, an investment received at the end of 2021 and five aggregation deals, and in July 2022 it announced that the Guernsey-based venture fund Yolo Investments had acquired a stake for an undisclosed sum.

Its Maltese company, Apparat Gaming Services Ltd, received an MGA B2B Critical Gaming Supply licence in November 2021, and its RNG is certified by iTech Labs. In June 2022 it joined Pariplay's Ignite programme and signed a distribution deal with Relax Gaming, and its site also lists partners such as EveryMatrix, Hub88, SOFTSWISS and Slotegrator. In February 2026 it announced its entry into the regulated Georgian market, and in July 2026 it announced ISO 27001 certification and went live with Betsson Georgia. Its catalogue includes the Diamond Treasures series, Piggy Kings, Blitz Coins and Mummy Bomb.
