Red Tiger was founded in 2014 by a team including former Net Entertainment and NextGen staff, with development in Malta and Bulgaria and a corporate base on the Isle of Man. It built a reputation on network jackpot mechanics — Daily Drop and similar timed jackpots — that gave operators a marketable hook independent of individual game titles.
NetEnt acquired Red Tiger in 2019 in a deal worth up to GBP 220m. When Evolution acquired NetEnt in December 2020, Red Tiger came with it.
