Play'n GO

The team behind Play'n GO began developing casino games in 1997, initially as a development shop producing content for other operators and suppliers rather than under its own brand. The company incorporated its own supplier business and began selling directly to operators in the mid-2000s, which is why some sources date it to 1997 and others to around 2005; the company's own materials now describe roughly two decades of history, counting from the branded business rather than the original development work.

Play'n GO built its regulated-market footprint early and states that it operates in more than 35 jurisdictions, with offices in Malta, Gibraltar and Canada alongside its Växjö base. Unlike almost all of its Swedish peers — NetEnt, Quickspin, Thunderkick, Nolimit City, Big Time Gaming — it has not been acquired, and remains privately held by its founders and management. Its single-vertical strategy (slots only, no live casino, no bingo) is unusual among studios of its size.
