История
Microgaming was founded on the Isle of Man in 1994 and was one of the first suppliers of online casino software, later shifting from whole casino platforms to distributing content through Quickfire, an aggregation layer that also carried third-party studios. Games Global Limited was incorporated on the Isle of Man on 8 July 2021 by Fusion Holdings Limited as a carve-out of Fusion's game development business; the transaction was announced in November 2021 and closed in early May 2022, and Games Global commenced operations on 1 April 2022.
Three details of this are routinely reported wrongly. First, the parent entity's rename to Apricot Investments Limited happened on 28 June 2018 — four years before the Games Global transaction, not as a consequence of it; the Microgaming brand itself was retired publicly in November 2024, on what would have been its thirtieth anniversary. Second, the Quickfire platform did not transfer: Games Global's own SEC registration statement says Apricot holds, customises and maintains the games platform Games Global uses to distribute its titles. Games Global acquired the Quickfire contracting entity, not the underlying technology. Third, the two companies are not at arm's length — Apricot was Games Global's largest customer, at 50.2% of revenue in the nine months to December 2023, and the same individual is the named ultimate economic beneficiary of the trusts behind both.
Games Global filed to list on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker GGL in April 2024 and withdrew the offering in May 2024; it remains private. It also inherited a network of separately branded studios that reach operators only through its integration — Just For The Win, Triple Edge Studios, Fortune Factory Studios, Gameburger Studios, Stormcraft Studios, All41 Studios, Snowborn Games, Northern Lights Gaming, Crazy Tooth Studio, Slingshot Studios, Foxium and others. A casino listing ten of those names is largely listing one supplier relationship.
Примечательно
- Incorporated on 8 July 2021 as a carve-out of Fusion Holdings' game development business; began operating on 1 April 2022.
- The Microgaming parent renamed itself Apricot Investments on 28 June 2018 — four years before this transaction, not because of it. The Microgaming brand was retired in November 2024.
- The Quickfire platform did not transfer: Apricot still holds and maintains the games platform Games Global distributes through, and was its largest customer at 50.2% of revenue.
- Games Global and Apricot share a named ultimate economic beneficiary, so the split is a carve-out within one ownership group rather than an arm's-length sale.
- Filed to list on the New York Stock Exchange as GGL in April 2024 and withdrew the offering the following month.
- Distributes around 40 in-house and partnered studios — Just For The Win, Triple Edge, Fortune Factory, Gameburger, Stormcraft, All41, Snowborn, Northern Lights, Crazy Tooth, Slingshot, Foxium and others — which appear as independent suppliers in casino lobbies.
- Its games are still served from the legacy quickfire.gameassists.co.uk infrastructure, consistent with Apricot holding the platform.

The incorporation date, the carve-out from Fusion Holdings and the shareholding come from the company's own SEC registration statement and from the Isle of Man register; the withdrawn New York listing is documented from the filing itself. The shared ultimate economic beneficiary with Apricot Investments is drawn from the same registration statement.
